Successive governments have been taxing motorists far too heavily. We've been charged crazy levels of Vehicle Registration Tax on all new and imported used cars. VRT is applied as a high percentage of the vehicle's cost price with blatant double taxation then applied by adding Value Added Tax on top of the VRT. That's right - our government in its haste to plunder motorists further, actually taxes its own tax. Half of the price you pay for a new car in Ireland is tax.

The new Ford Ka has a higher specification, and an entry price of €11,535 ex-works for the Style 1.2 (69bhp) three-door.
Ford says the price is some €800 below that of the outgoing model. The saving comes despite a high level of specification, in tune with the Ka’s promise of fun, fashionable motoring. The entry level new Ka diesel engined Style 1.3 TDCi (75bhp), three-door sells at €13,320 ex-works.

Fitted out in accordance with DHL specifications in terms of interior shelving, partitioning, and driver walk-through access from cab to cargo area, the vans were manufactured and delivered to Ireland in DHL's distinctive yellow livery. Subsequently, DHL's unique red logo and branding was applied by Mercedes-Benz prior to the vehicles entering service.
