Skoda Ireland tells us that their new product and customer incentives are part of their 181 sales event, which is being rolled out from now until 31st October. The event will see two new model versions being unveiled at showrooms across the country, the Rapid and the Citigo.

Data from the UK’s largest marketplace, Auto Trader, for used and new cars, revealed the 2015 Kia Sportage (petrol manual) was the fastest selling used car in September, taking an average of 15 days to turn.
It marks the second consecutive month the Korean SUV has taken the national top spot, after taking the least amount of days to sell in August (17), as well as taking the title for 2016’s overall fastest selling used car.

The latest figures from the leading stolen vehicle recovery provider, Tracker, act as a stark winter warning to motorists. In the last year more vehicles were stolen with keys in the autumn and winter months compared to spring and summer. On average nearly a third (32 per cent) were stolen with keys during the darker months, compared to 24 per cent for the rest of the year.
“While the majority of vehicles we recover have been ‘stolen without the keys', often by organised gangs with the skills to bypass sophisticated key-fob security technology, it appears from our data there has been an increase in the number stolen ‘with keys’ in the darker months, probably by the more opportunistic thief,” says Andy Barrs, head of police liaison at Tracker in the UK.

One in 10 second hand cars for sale in Ireland has a false mileage displayed, according to the largest study of its kind. The figure is even worse for cars imported from the UK with nearly one in five having an unreliable or questionable mileage reading.
The study was carried out by Cartell.ie in co-operation with AA Ireland. Some 120,000 vehicles were checked on the Cartell.ie database, which is the most complete vehicle database in the country. Cartell.ie provides data searches and history checks, also for AA Ireland, and uniquely has full access to UK data, write-off data, and other information for both jurisdictions.
