While Ardal is best known for playing the gormless Fr Dougal on Fr Ted, it is as a stand up comedian that his star truly shines, as evidenced by his winning several awards, including a Bafta for his work on Ted and the Best Live Stand Up title at the 2007 UK comedy awards.

DRAGON’S DEN sensation Santa Ponsa Or Bust comes to the Town Hall Theatre next week on Friday August 5 and Saturday 6 featuring the two funniest men in Cork: Frank Twomey and Pakie O’Callaghan.
The show is written and performed by O’Callaghan and Twomey, who have been writing and performing together regularly since 1998, when they both were involved in RTÉ’s Bull Island.
