TAKE SOME good-time revolutionary spirit, add a pinch of psychedelic flavour, simmer with some indie-soul and seventies style rock, and you have the cosmic vibe of The Hot Sprockets.
The Dublin quintet are making a welcome return to Galway to play Monroe's Live on Friday May 18 at 11pm. They have released two critically acclaimed albums - Honey Skippin' and Brother Nature - while their third, Dream Mover, was released last month. Their most recent single, 'Cold Cold Sweat' was inspired by the Afro-beat rhythms of Fela Kuti, and is more percussive than their previous releases.
Admission is €10. See www.monroes.ie
