Guitar great Albert Lee to play Town Hall

'One of the top rockabilly guitarists in the world' in Galway

ALBERT LEE boasts a career that is the envy of many musicians, having worked with numerous legends in rock and country, and becoming something of a legend in his own right.

Albert Lee, the influential, award winning, English guitarist, best known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique, which bridges gaps between rock and country and western, plays the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday May 1 at 8pm.

Throughout his long career, Lee has been a member of seventies band Head Hands and Feet (with Chas Hodges, later of Chas'n'Dave ), Chris Farlowe & The Thunderbirds, Emmylou Harris and The Hot Band, and Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. He has also worked with the Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Jackson Brown, and Bo Diddley. He is a two time Grammy winner and five time nominee, released 14 solo albums, and is, in the words of Allmusic.com: "one of the top rockabilly guitarists in the world, and no slouch in country music either. In England he's been a household name, and in Nashville and Los Angeles he's been one of the most in-demand session guitarists there is".

Tickets are €25 from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
