General manager Cian O’Broin says: “We have an experienced and dedicated team here at Hotel Meyrick and our No 15 Restaurant delivers exceptional food in beautiful surroundings. Using the very best of what is on our doorstep here in Galway, especially during the year we are European Region of Gastronomy, we are delighted to be constantly innovating and introducing fresh menus for our local clientele as well as guests of the hotel. Added to our extensive wine list and impeccable service right here in the heart of Galway, No 15 delivers an unbeatable dining experience.”
The proof is in the pudding and No 15 on the Square serves modern classic cuisine with thoughtfully considered and carefully crafted menus. Well priced starters range from €5.75 to €12.95 and feature tender slow cooked pork cheeks served with roast carrot purée and carrot crisp, as well as the popular beef brisket spring roll with a red cabbage salad, sweet potato and ginger purée, and the goat’s cheese with a butternut squash and basil parcel and zingy beetroot ketchup created by head chef Philip Dunleavy to act as a contrast to the creamy goat’s cheese is also paired with a crispy mustard leaf. Seafood lovers will delight in the beautiful miso marinated fillet of seabass with tempura oyster and the perfectly pan-fried king scallops with baked apple purée, fennel, toasted hazelnuts, and topped with fresh julienne of apple.
Main courses range from €17.50 upwards and include a roulade of Tipperary lamb shoulder with mint infused lamb pithivier, glazed baby carrots, and wilted spinach drizzled with thyme gravy. The 7oz fillet of Hereford beef is second to none and rich flavours abound with seared foie gras, truffle potato terrine, and a red wine reduction. Award winning Silverhill duck breast is served with a confit duck leg bonbon, tangy orange infused celeriac, and finished with a Madeira orange sauce. For lighter tastes, the locally sourced seafood includes pan fried wild Atlantic hake and grilled fillet of brill fennel croquettes, or the vegetarian dish quinoa and coriander cakes is ideal for a fresh burst of flavour with both a chickpea curry and tzatziki dressing setting off an explosion of taste well worthy of the AA rosette.
The tempting selection of desserts from the innovative pastry team at Hotel Meyrick will leave you wishing for more. Choose from glazed caramelized apple and hazelnut frangipani tartlet, or a rumbaba with raspberries and spiced rum syrup. Approaching summer, the buttermilk and honey panacotta makes for a perfect dessert, and the ever-popular chocolate fondant makes a welcome appearance with salted caramel mousse as well as vanilla bean ice-cream. For those leaning to the savoury, a well rounded Irish artisan cheese board takes pride of place and will finish your meal perfectly.

Whether you are planning a milestone celebration, entertaining corporate clients, or choosing a top restaurant for an intimate dinner for two, you are guaranteed a great night at No 15 with delicious menus and the renowned warm Meyrick welcome.
