HE WAS BORN and brought up in Hong Kong; has lived in England since he was 11; and was inspired to write songs by Bon Iver's 'Flume'. Since then, Allman Brown has won notice for the single 'Sons and Daughters', and acclaim for his album 1000 Years.
Allman Brown, who last played Galway as support to Norwegian singer-songwriter Siv Jakobsen, returns to the Róísín Dubh to headline the venue's upstairs bar this Saturday at 8pm.
The London based singer-songwriter has just released his EP Bury My Heart and recently passed 50 million cumulative streams on Spotify. His song have been featured on a number of US TV dramas. Speaking about his music and background he told Music Republic in 2017: "I have had the privilege of growing up in two diverse cultures, which I hope feeds into my song writing. I want people from all over the world to connect with the songs.” He cites Tracy Chapman, Bon Iver, Ryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul Simon, as inspirations.
Admission is €10. Support is from Sophie Morgan, who supported The Waterboys on their 2017 European tour after Mike Scott heard her cover 'The Whole Of The Moon'. Her debut EP, Annie, is out now.
