Gaelic4Girls is starting up at Claregalway Ladies Gaelic Football club on Saturday April 14 from 3pm to 4pm at the Knockdoemore Pitch.
Gaelic4Girls is initially an eight-week programme aimed at increasing participation by girls in the sport. The programme targets girls aged between eight and 12 years who are not currently registered with a club.
Gaelic4Girls is focused on fun and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in a non-competitive environment.
On completion of the programme, participants are presented with certificates and T-shirts for their participation, and are encouraged to register with the club where they will be integrated into the existing teams.
A mini blitz will also be held with another Gaelic4Girls site after the eight weeks, which is a highlight of the programme.
The cost for the entire programme is €10. For more information contact Lorna McNicholas 087-2873538.
