Access for all improves Salthill amusement site

Leisureland has completed tarmac and electrical renovations to its amusement site to improve accessibility.

Ian Brennan, operations manager in Leisureland, says the aim is to improve accessibility for children in buggies, wheelchairs users, as well as the emergency services.

Currys Amusements will begin operating from Saturday March 24 throughout the summer period.

“Following Leisureland receiving the award for the accessible club of the year this year, the board of Leisureland felt it should also improve the accessibility to the amusement site. This work is now completed just in time for the amusements to move in for the season," Brennan says.

"Leisureland has always had an “Access for all” ethic, reflected in the support given by the board of Management and Galway City Council."

Donal Lyons, chairman of the board of management, says after a number of difficult trading years, Leisureland is again becoming a superb venue for swim, gym, amusement and theatre goers.
