Galway's women taking part in this year's Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon are asked to consider the Galway Hospice for their fundraising efforts.
The annual Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon takes place on Sunday June 3, and this largest women’s event of its kind in the world will see thousands of women run, walk and jog a 10 kilometre course in Dublin, while also raising vital funds for their chosen charities.
Galway Hospice CEO Mary Nash is encouraging anyone intending on taking part in this year’s marathon to consider the organisation when deciding which charity to fundraise for.
Everyone can make a difference
"Demand for hospice services continues to grow and without the generous support of the people of Galway, Galway Hospice simply could not provide the level of services to patients and their families/carers – at no charge-for as long as they are needed," Mary Nash says.
"Galway Hospice must also plan for the future, with the development of a new state-of-the-art hospice at Merlin Park. The support we’ve received from past participants has been incredible. Everyone can make a difference, both now and into the future.”
Registration for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon is open and participants can register through the marathon website www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie
The closing date for registration is Friday May 18 or when the maximum number of entries is reached.
Once runners have registered for the marathon and if they would like to support the Galway Hospice, they can contact the fundraising department 091 770868 or email [email protected] for a sponsorship card and complimentary T-shirt.
