SAY 'dog tired" and it conjures up images of exhaustion, weariness from a hard day's work, and a desire to sleep long. None of these images or ideas applies to the band Dog Tired.
The Scottish quartet have won notice for their intense, high energy, performances, and ability to get a crowd going. They describe themselves as "southern groove metal", and cite Pantera, Sepultura, Soulfly, and Lamb Of God as inspirations. They play The Cellar Bar, Eglinton Street, on Saturday March 31 at 8.30pm.
Also on the bill are one of Galway's best bands - Ten Ton Slug - who have just returned from their March Of The Slug British tour earlier this month. They released the Blood and Slime EP last year, supported Black Label Society on the band's Irish tour, and played the Metal Days festival in Slovenia.
Support is from new Galway blackened doom/death metal band Stonecarver, and Neurosis/Tool inspired Tired Light, who have supported Anciients and Black Wizard. Admission is €6. The show is organised by Hexen Haus.
