Two notable Galway sales were Bencor, 33 Kingston Road, Kingston, Galway; and 6 Ard Aoibhinn, Ballybane, Galway.
The Kingston Road property was a detached home on 0.29 acre site in a prime Galway location with views over Galway Golf course. The bidding opened in the mid €500s and with three active bidders chasing the property it reached a level of €649,000 at which price it sold. It represented a strong price for a quality location and was €74,000 over the guide.
The Ballybane property was an eight bedroomed detached home with required some moderation and upgrading. It sold for a healthy €320,000 which was €125,000 over the guide price.
Agent Tony Kavanagh said both properties reflected the strength of demand for well located properties with scope for further improvement. "Our clients were very happy with the process, the auction and the result, and it shows the strength of demand for quality, well located property."
