Three poets go Over The Edge

Simon Lewis, Geraldine Dardis-O’Kane, and Alice Kinsella read in Galway City Library

THE POETS Simon Lewis, Geraldine Dardis-O’Kane, and Alice Kinsella, will read at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading in the Galway City Library on Thursday, March 29, at 6.30pm.

Simon Lewis, from Carlow, won the Hennessy Prize for Emerging Poetry and was runner up in the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award, both in 2015. His first collection of poems, Jewtown, was published in 2016 by Doire Press to critical acclaim. Tyrone's Geraldine Dardis-O’Kane is a poet, creative writing facilitator, arts administrator, curator, and mental health advocate. She co-hosts the Purely Poetry open mic nights in Belfast. Dublin born, Mayo raised, Alice Kinsella is a poet and playwright. Her play, The Passing, was staged at the Liberties Festival, Cruthú Arts Festival, and the Temple Bar Culture and Arts Festival, in 2016. Her collection, Flower Press, was published last month by Onslaught Press.

There will be an open-mic after the featured readers. New readers are always especially welcome at the open-mic. The MC for the evening will be Susan Millar DuMars. Admission is free.
