ANCIIENTS, THE riff juggernaut from Canada, will headline the first gig to be presented by the new Galway collective, Old Noise, made up of veterans of the city's underground metal and punk scene.
Anciients' music lies somewhere between sheer, apocalyptic heaviness and precise riffing, delivering a crushing heavy metal evocative of High on Fire and Opeth. The band play The Loft at Seven, Bridge Street, tomorrow at 9pm. Support is from fellow-Vancouver band, Black Wizard, with suport from Irish metallers Zohra, and Galway doom bands Genuflection and Tired Light. Admission is €12.
