Black Panther

"Visually astounding, intriguing, and surprisingly deep"

FOLLOWING THE amazing and positive reviews Black Panther, Marvel's latest film, has been receiving, I decided to go and see it for myself, and it is a visually astounding film, very intriguing, and surprisingly deep.

Black Panther is the first major big budget film from an African-American director and features a mostly all-Black cast, with Chadwick Boseman playing T’Challa - the Black Panther.

Following the death of his father, T’Challa must follow in his foot steps to become king of Wakanda. However he then has to face a new enemy - Erik Kilmunger, one of the best Marvel villains. Michael B Jordan plays Kilmunger as quite grounded and watching him you begin to understand the reasons behind his actions. On taking over Wakanda from T’Challa, Kilmunger is determined to serve justice, as his own father's death was caused by the late king of Wakanda. T’Challa is then faced with a challenge to fight for his people and his kingdom.

The film has an impressive story and audiences will be able to relate to both the king and the villain. I liked the bond T’Challa had with his sister Shuri and it added bit of comedy to Black Panther. The film was 2 hours and 15 minutes but it went faster then I expected as I was so intrigued by it all. Highly recommended to anyone who likes action films.
