TRACY BRUEN, one of Galway's most outstanding singer-songwriters, recently released her new single, 'Fall Away', and will tour Ireland, Germany, and the Czech Republic over the coming weeks.
The tour takes in four shows in County Galway - the Róisín Dubh on Saturday February 24 at 8pm; Glynn's Bar, Dunmore, on Saturday March 3; a house concert in Galway city on Saturday March 24; and Mullarkey's Bar, Clifden, Saturday April 14.
'Fall Away' is taken from Tracy's debut solo album Mirror (Citóg Records ) and was named the Best Galway Album 2017 by the Galway Advertiser for "the maturity and brilliance of its songwriting; the emotional and intellectual depth of it's lyrics and music; it's ability to balance a sense of fun with the deeply serious, and its melding of indie, folk, country, jazz touches, quirky prog-pop, and musical theatre."
"‘Fall Away’ deals with my world, and the modern world in general," Tracy told the Galway Advertiser, "in which everybody seems to have a say in women’s rights, but sometimes the last person to be asked and considered is the woman. I’m frustrated by that. I want to live in a world where autonomy for all is promoted and until I see that progress I will continue to be angry and continue to write songs that help me work through that anger.”
