Beyond the West event to showcase Irish food and drink producers in Galway next month

The Local Enterprise Office Galway, in collaboration with Bord Iascaigh Mhara and Údarás na Gaeltachta, is busy preparing for the upcoming Beyond the West food and drink showcase, a trade-only event to support Irish producers to get a foothold in the marketplace. This exciting free event will be held on Tuesday March 6 from 10am to 1pm in Galway.

Producers from across Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal, and Kerry will be exhibiting their products at the showcase.

Head of the Local Enterprise Office Galway, Breda Fox said: “It is an exciting time in the Irish food sector. We have great food and drink producers who are ambitious to grow. In order for artisan companies to succeed, they need an outlet and retailer to work with. Being able to display products with space to target consumers is very important, we are delighted to offer this opportunity.

“As local and artisan producers grow it is important for us to support them locally,” she added. “I would encourage producers to talk to their Local Enterprise Office to see what support is available to them. Also, local retailers and restaurateurs can play a central role in promoting local producers.”

The event is part of the wider efforts within the region with the Galway-west of Ireland designation of European Region of Gastronomy 2018 and the ambition to increase the number of local food and drink showcase opportunities.

The venue for this showcase is Tribeton, Galway. This is a free event with limited availability and booking is essential.
