Gavin James returns to Galway International Arts Festival

Singer-songwriter to play Big Top in the Fisheries Field in July

GAVIN JAMES, the Irish singer-songwriter who has amassed half a billion streams on Spotify, sold more than two million singles worldwide, and played more than 500 shows to over 3.2 million people at festivals and sold out tours across the world, is coming back to Galway.

Gavin James plays the Big Top on Friday 20 July, and is the follow-up to his sell-out show, again at the Big Top in the Fisheries Field, at least year's arts festival. The show's announcement comes in advance of the release of his next album, which is due out later this spring. A taste of the album was provided by the single, 'Hearts On Fire', produced with Steve Robson (One Direction, John Legend, James Bay ) and co-written with Sam Romans (Little Mix, Mary J Blige, Rag'n'Bone Man ).

The Dubliner's previous singles, 'The Bitter Pill', 'Say Hello', 'Nervous', and 'For You', have won him a global audience, and praise from peers such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kodaline and Sam Smith. He has collaborated with Alan Walker, Australian hip hop act Bliss'n'Eso, and he performed at RTÉ’s centenary concert to mark the 1916 Easter Rising. He has also enjoyed critical acclaim, with State saying, "his voice is absolutely astounding"; The Irish Times declared, "“James has enough emotionally depth-charged tunes in his back pocket to take him from here to the top of the charts and back again” ; while Hunger praised his "unparalleled vocal ability".

The concert is a 'Galway International Arts Festival and Róisín Dubh presents...' event. Tickets are €35 and go on sale on Wednesday February 7 at 9am via giaf.ie and roisindubh.net
