Moycullen basketballers turn their attention from Super League fare to National Cup action this weekend when they contest the U20 men's final in Dublin on Sunday.
With the Super League team enjoying a weekend off, it is all eyes on the U20 squad which takes on KUBS in the Hula Hoops U20 National Cup final for the third time in the club's history.
Moycullen won the trophy on both previous occasions - the first 10 years ago, but this season the Connemara side comes up against a KUBS outfit which will be determined to make amends for losing last year's decider.
Having two home games in the initial stages of the cup helped Moycullen. In the second round they defeated Maree 77-66 before defeating Dublin Lions 79-70 in the quarter-finals.
Moycullen then produced a superb semi-final to upset the defending champions Neptune by 49 points, 106-57, while KUBS came through their semi-final by 94-75 over KCYMS, having previously overcome Belfast Phoenix 86-71 and Killester 91-78.
The final takes place at the National Basketball Arena at 10am on Sunday.
Moycullen BC is running a bus to the event. Contact Nollaig Cunningham 087-0518519 by Thursday this evening.
