O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers is launching its March auction next week. This will be the first auction of the 2018 Wild Atlantic Way property auction series. The company hosts seven property auctions annually and 2018 is no different. This year there will be an auction on March 1, April 20, June 8, July 20, September 28, November 9, and December 14. The team are currently looking for properties for all auctions throughout 2018.
Each property auction has a wide variety of properties from all along the western seaboard and Wild Atlantic Way, including private auction sales and also a large number of receiver properties.
O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers is taking registrations from interested sellers until Monday January 29 for the Wild Atlantic Way spring auction, to be held on Thursday, March 1, in Harbour Hotel, New Dock Road, Galway. There is a large portfolio of homes already registered including properties in Knocknacarra, Newcastle, Renmore, and the city centre. These properties are ideal for owner occupiers and also as investment properties. There are also a number of rural properties from all over Ireland’s Ancient East and the Wild Atlantic Way including Donegal, Roscommon, Leitrim, Mayo, Limerick, and Waterford.
O’Donnellan & Joyce’s live auctions are the largest in the country with 440 properties offered in 2017, yielding a total of €52.1m in sales.
Colm O’Donnellan of O’Donnellan & Joyce said: “People have now become very comfortable with the process of buying and selling at auction. The benefit to the seller is that you have a reserve price [a minimum price that is acceptable], and once this is achieved you are on the market to sell to whoever the highest bidder is. Once the auction hammer falls, the contract is immediately signed.” This gives sellers security that the property will be sold at a price they are happy with, and once the contracts are signed the property is sold, it takes away all the uncertainty of a sale.
The auction is streamed online on www.odonnjoyce.com, with regular updates on the company's social media platforms and website.
