LIAM Ó MAONLAÍ is coming back to Galway to play the Town Hall Theatre on Wednesday at 8pm where he will perform songs from his new album To Be Touched.
To Be Touched is a soulful collection of new piano-accompanied compositions by Ó Maonlaí. It was mostly recorded in Prague last July with the help of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (who provides vocals on some of the tracks ), and funded by a series of concerts there.
Ó Maonlaí went into the studio with just three of the songs already written, the rest were born in the studio environment and continue to grow on this album. His music reflects a diverse range of influences which takes in American music, Arabic song, and the traditional music of the Aborigines.
