Award winning dance teacher returns to Labane

Have you ever wanted to dance but not known where to start? Are you tired of going to weddings or country music events and not being able to dance? Well worry no more because County Galway native Niall Doorhy is back with a four-week jive course in Loughnane and Quinn Memorial Hall, Labane, on Sunday January 21.

If you want to learn how to jive, Niall Doorhy is the man for you.

Doorhy, who is self taught, has many years’ experience in teaching dance and he is renowned for his eights beats count in jive, ability to make dancing look easy. With more than 30,000 followers on his Facebook page and millions of views on his jive videos, Niall Doorhy is one of the most sought after dance teachers in Ireland. His work as a dance teacher has been noted by national media and he has featured on many programmes with RTE, TV3, TG4, and even the BBC.

In 2015 Doorhy became the first person in Ireland to direct and produce a social dance jive tuition DVD, entitled Let's Jive. The DVD has sold more than 10,000 copies around Ireland, and also across mainland Europe, UK, USA, and as far away as Australia to Irish country music enthusiasts living abroad.

In this course Niall Doorhy will take you from an absolute beginner in jive to learning moves such as the octopus, figure 8, reverse turn hand change, turn–wrap-cuddle and unwrap, and many more. There is no forced partner switching and Doorhy makes sure that everyone who attends his classes learns to jive.

The jive classes four week course for beginners to intermediates will commence in Loughnane and Quinn Memorial Hall, Labane, Ardrahan, Co Galway on Sunday January 21 from 3pm to 4.15pm
