Over the past few years there has been a huge growth in the nail care and colour market. Interest in gel polish manicures continue to grow in popularity. Because of this, there are many opportunities available for professional, dedicated, qualified, nail techicians in the west of Ireland. If you are interested in a career in the beauty industry, training as a qualified nail technician, is the first step towards reaching that goal.
The newly rebranded Glam Gals Academy (formerly known as Martin Academy of Gel Nails, and now part of the Glam Gals salon ), is now taking bookings for its February course. Running over two Sundays, February 25 and March 4, owner Naoise Martin, who has 20 years’ experience working and training in the USA, UK, and Ireland as a nail technician, will educate trainees in all the up-to-date methods of applying gel nails. Glam Gals Academy is the only academy to offer this course in the west of Ireland.
"I am focused on attention to detail and passionate about perfection," Naoise Martin said. "I will be providing advice on all aspects of gel nail application, and also the right products to use to get started in the nail business. It is essential to use the correct products to ensure that customers get the best and most long lasting result. Something that must be emphasised is that you do not need to be a qualified beautician to become a nail technician, it is completely separate to other beauty treatments.”
At the end of the course there will be a practical exam and trainees will receive AIT accreditation. Trainees who successfully complete the course will be qualified to set up their own nail business, or work as a nail technician in a beauty salon.
