IRISH COUNTRY singer-songwriter Derek Ryan has just released his new single, ‘Down On His Uppers’, and will play the Town Hall Theatre this month.
The Carlow based singer plays the Town Hall on Thursday January 25 at 8pm, where he will perform the new song - taken from a phrase originally used to describe people who had badly worn shoes - and others, from across his various albums. As well as his own songs, Derek has written for other singers, including composing the title track for Philomena Begley’s latest album. He has played The Rose of Tralee the Farmers Bash, toured Ireland and Britain - including a performance at Trafalgar Square - and was featured on The Late Late Country Show.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
