Galway Actors Workshop - new spring courses

THE GALWAY Actors Workshop will hold a series of new classes for the New Year for beginners and experienced, covering all aspects of acting for both theatre and television.

Acting 101 is a course for beginners, covering all the necessary basics. It runs for six weeks on Mondays, starting January 22. The Next Stage classes have been split into one on voice, text, and professional skills with Sarah O'Toole on Thursdays; and another physical theatre and devising with James Riordan on Tuesdays. Each will end in a public showcase performance.

The Advanced Performance Group will meet on Wednesdays and work towards another full-scale show. This group is for students with some experience. All core courses are based in the Anno Santo Hotel, Salthill, from 7pm to 10pm.

There will also be weekend workshops in acting for camera with acclaimed writer/director Linda Bhreathnach on February 3 and 4, and Improvisation 101 with Darragh O’Brien March 24 and 25. These also take place at Anno Santo, from 10am to 5pm. Those in need of professional headshots should check out the Headshot Sessions with photographer Steve Maye on February 11 and 13.
