Fantasy Football review

And so round 22 of the Premier League came to an end with a tepid draw at Wembley between Spurs and West Ham being lit up by wonder strikes from Heung-Min Son and Pedro Obiang.

Fantasy managers will have a week's break as the third round of the FA Cup and semi-finals of the EFL Cup come into focus for the next seven days. However, nerves will be frayed, each and every manager in the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union, will cross their fingers and toes and hope none of their players gets injured on cup duty.

But with no Premier League matches for the next week let us have a look at the top three of our league at present.

1 Stephen White - Biscuit or Cake - 1,342

Stephen White and his men are having their cake and eating it as they sit top of the log after 22 rounds. White's team is based around the Spurs triangle of Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son, and Harry Kane. Son has been in fine form for the Confectionaries as they storm up the table. The Korean winger's form has been so good that White handed him the captain's armband for Spurs double game week and didn't he deliver a captain's performance, bagging himself 28 Fantasy points. When asked about how good a manager White was, Gary Neville responded; "He makes it look like a piece of cake!" Taking the biscuit so he is.

2 Kevin Fahy - Mayo Vallecano - 1,331

Eleven points back in second spot is Mayo Vallecano. Kevin Fahy's charges have shown remarkable consistency this season having never been out of the top two since the campaign began back in August. Mayo Vallecano's fab four of Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne (best player in the world in my humble opinion ), Richarlison, and Mohamed Salah have terrified defences in the Tribal Leader League and have kept Fahy's men in the title race. Keeping them fit will be critical if Vallecano stand any chance of being crown champions in May or else it will be the dreaded runners up spot for another Mayo side.

3 Colm Shiel - The Testicles - 1,312

The Testicles have shrunk since our last league review. They have fallen from top spot down to third because of an inability to keep clean sheets. Shiel persisted with a back three which included Ryan Bertrand, Nacho Monreal, and Lewis Dunk. Only for the heroics of David de Gea and the brilliance of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, The Testicles would have dropped further down the league. However, with the new year comes a new wildcard and no doubt Shiel will be looking to strengthen his defence and show that his side have the balls for a title fight.
