‘G & Tea’ afternoon tea is just the tonic this January at Hotel Meyrick

Where better to enjoy afternoon tea but on Eyre Square in the very heart of Galway. Hotel Meyrick has been serving afternoon tea in elegant surroundings since 1852. From royalty and presidential candidates to famous actors and sporting heroes, Hotel Meyrick is the home of hospitality in Galway.

Traditional afternoon tea is served in the beautiful Parlour Lounge from 1pm to 6pm each day. Relax in plush golden hued surroundings with friendly service and savour hand-cut sandwiches with tasty fillings, smoked salmon with cream cheese on freshly baked brown bread, and homemade fruit scones served with cream and preserves. Delight in the delicious pastry creations made by the talented head pastry chef and his team; all accompanied with your choice of tea or coffee.

In 2018, Hotel Meyrick is turning January into #Ginuary with the introduction of a limited edition ‘G & Tea’. The traditional afternoon tea will be served with a premium Beefeater 24 gin from Irish distillers Pernod Ricard, throughout January.

‘Ginuary’ is an increasingly popular term created and loved by enthusiastic gin-drinkers all over the world, and Hotel Meyrick has always been at the forefront of the hospitality industry so this new addition to its delicious offerings is no surprise. Beefeater 24 is a sophisticated blend of fine botanicals and exotic teas. Made from 12 hand-selected botanicals including Japanese sencha and Chinese green teas, Beefeater 24 is a sophisticated and modern interpretation of the world’s most versatile spirit. The inclusion of Japanese sencha and Chinese green tea distinguishes Beefeater 24 from any other gin, helping to shape its unique aroma and smoothness, while the addition of grapefruit peel ensures that Beefeater’s refreshing citrus flavour is clearly present. Gently distilled for 24 hours, hence the name Beefeater 24, the result is a gin with an incredible smoothness making it the ideal accompaniment to afternoon tea.

Hotel Meyrick’s ‘G & Tea’ will be at €26 per person and is available to book from January 8 to 31 inclusive.
