Minister Denis Naughten has confirmed that the Office of Public Works expects to be in a position to go to tender for Ballinasloe Garda Station early in 2018.
It is expected that the tender evaluation of the project will be completed next month with a view to placing the project for contract soon after.
Minister Naughten said; “Ballinasloe Garda Station is presently not fit for purpose and these works are vital for the provision of a modern policing service in east Galway.
“I want to thank Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, and his predecessor Sean Canney, for taking a personal interest in this project on my behalf and I look forward to the award of a contract in 2018.”
