THE SAW Doctors, Christy Moore, and Michael English have all had success with his songs but to hear the original versions of 'The Tuam Beat', ‘Streets of Galway’, and 'Ireland for the Summer', go to the next Bus King gig.
Padraig Stevens is a Tuam and Irish musical and songwriting legend, and he plays Bus King on the stationary double-decker bus Crustbucket pizza bus in the beergarden of Carroll's, Dominick Street, this Saturday at 4pm. He will be accompanied on guitar and vocals by The Saw Doctor's Leo Moran.
Padraig has released two solo albums - Sound! and Puddles and Rainbows - and an album of football songs with Leo Moran as The Folk Footballers. He has worked extensively with The Saw Doctors and is co-writer of some of their best known songs, including 'I Useta Lover', 'Still The Only One', and 'That’s What She Said Last Night'.
The show is organised by the Galway-based independent record label Rusted Rail. Admission is free. Space is limited and early arrival is advised.
