Galway Chamber rebrand reflects heritage and evolution

A new brand for Chambers Ireland and its affiliated chambers across the country has been launched, reflecting the chambers’ heritage and their ongoing evolution as a strong, influential, and collaborative network that effects real change as the voice of business in every community.

The new logo and tagline, ‘Advancing business together’, illustrates the ethos of chambers across the country, reflecting the work being done on behalf of members in many different spheres including lobbying local government, national Government, and the EU to shape policy and deliverables, as well as representing the concerns of business to relevant stakeholders.

The president of Galway Chamber, Maurice O’Gorman, welcomed the rebrand saying that the new logo and tagline perfectly encapsulates what a chamber stands for.

“The chamber movement is the country’s largest business network with Galway Chamber founded over 200 years ago. We have substantial history, knowledge, and a consistent background as the voice of the business community.

“Today, chambers are more relevant than ever. As the needs of business change, we are consolidating our ability to adapt and meet the needs of our members through engagement, active listening, and calls to action.

“Our lobbying targets issues relevant to all businesses large and small, foreign and domestic, tied together by location. We look forward to seeing the continued growth and influence of our network.”

The design of the new logo emerged by looking individually at chambers’ unique characteristics, namely heritage, connections, and expansion, and endeavouring to incorporate all three.

The brand encapsulates the wealth of history it represented as well as comprehensive connections across sectors and the current evolution and growth within the network, where collaboration across multiple geographic areas to achieve more meaningful outputs has become increasingly used as a powerful way to effect change, for example to highlight significant infrastructure needs.

The Galway Chamber tagline ‘Ag cothú gnó le chéile’ means both supporting and advancing business together.

Galway Chamber is the only chamber in the country to use the Irish tagline and it reflects its support for Galway as a bilingual city and work with organisations like Gaillimh le Gaeilge to encourage the use of Irish in business in the city and hinterland.
