Citóg fundraiser for Galway Simon

Field Trip, Katie O'Connor, The Curly Organ, Kieran O'Brien

CITÓG RECORDS, home to some of the most creative and exciting bands and solo artists in Galway, and a key player in the revival of the city's music scene, host a fundraising concert for the Galway Simon Community.

Field Trip mix garage rock, indie-pop, and surf rock, with a grasp of songwriting and arrangement it takes others years to master. The Galway Advertiser called them "connoisseurs of the finest traditions of eighties and nineties indie and shoegaze" In March, they released their five track EP Evening's Over (Citóg Records/Little L ) which displayed a keen sense of melody and harmony, with the track being 'Plant The Seed' being a contender for Galway song of the year with its irresistible chorus and Teenage Fanclub-esque vibes.

Katie O'Connor on stages and streets throughout Europe and New York City. Since completing a midwifery degree in NUI Galway, the Kerrywoman has been adopted as one of Galway's own. Earlier this year she released the album, Fuel For Dreaming, which explores themes of love, relationships, uncertainty, vulnerability, religious belief, self-worth, unity, and change.

The Curly Organ is a solo project of My Fellow Sponges' Donal McConon. During July this year, he released one EP per week. Kieran O'Brien is a singer-songwriter whose music features sparse, dreamy, and sometimes psychedelic textures.

The concert takes place tomorrow from 9pm in The Loft at Seven, Bridge Street. Admission is €5. All proceeds will go to the Galway Simon Community, which provides housing, supporst and health care services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
