Damien Dempsey - Galway concert in December

Dublin singer-songwriter to play Monroe's Live

DAMIEN DEMPSEY, described by The Guardian as "one of Ireland’s great singer-songwriters" and by The Daily Express as "one astonishingly gifted individual", returns to Galway in December.

Damien plays Monroe's Live on Thursday December 14 at 8pm. Speaking about his music, he told the Galway Advertiser in 2015: "I want to give people hope in the music, to help them through dark times, and include some of the wisdom I've picked up along the way."

The Dublin singer-songwriter cites Christy Moore, Luke Kelly, Bob Marley, and Elvis Presley as inspirations. He has shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and Sinead O’Connor; sold out Sydney Opera House while headlining several major gigs in Australia; and enjoyed six Top 10 studio albums over the past 15 years. Last year he released the album, Soul Sun, to critical acclaim.

The concert is in association with Bulmers Irish Cider. Tickets are €25 from www.monroes.ie and www.ticketweb.ie See also www.damiendempsey.com
