The Study Centre at Mill Street has been based in Galway since late 1983.
It has steadily built an excellent reputation as a tutorial college during this time. Staring Tuesday, January 2, it will commence its 34th intensive Christmas holiday course for the Leaving and Junior Cert examinations. Classes will run for five days and will finish on Saturday, January 6. Key topics will be covered in a wide range of subjects with special emphasis on past exam papers and questions.
As always, the holiday period at Christmas is a popular time for students to take extra tuition as they use the opportunity to try to catch up on much needed revision after all the festivities. Tuition will be given by a team of highly experienced teachers who have consistently achieved considerable success with examination classes over many years. Excellent and comprehensive study notes will be provided and class sizes will be kept small.
Interested parents and students should call 091 564254 for more details or can log on to the Galway Study Centre website www.galwaystudycentre.ie and download booking forms, timetables, detailed topics lists, and fees. Bookings have been open for the past number of weeks but there are still a limited number of places available.
In addition to revision courses, ongoing at the Galway Study Centre are weekly classes for Leaving, pre-Leaving, and Junior Cert students in most subjects. These take place after school, in the evening time, and on Saturdays. The second term starts in January and it is expected that there will be a small number of new places to book at this stage. Shorter preparatory courses for the French, Irish, and German oral examinations are also offered on selected weekends as well as specialised day seminars in higher level mathematics and English.
