Since Briarhill Family Practice opened its doors on February 1, it continues to grow at a fast pace.
Located on the outskirts of the town on level two of Briarhill Shopping Centre, there is easy access and free parking which is an added bonus. The practice is ideally placed not just for residents of the area but also for the many people who work in the surrounding areas such as Parkmore and Ballybrit.
The practice has three GPs all of whom have their own special interests. Dr Aaron Brennan has a special interest in the management of chronic diseases, migraine, rheumatology, and bone health. Viscosupplementation is another area of interest for Dr Brennan. This is a medical procedure that can help to reduce pain and facilitate better knee movement for people living with osteoarthritis of the knee. There is further information on this on www.briarhillfamilypractice.ie
Dr Aileen Faherty has a wealth of experience in general practice and has a special interest in women's health, contraception, and sexual health. Management of diabetes and dermatology are other areas of medicine that Dr Faherty has a special interest in. She has also lectured in paediatrics and has a specialist interest in children’s health.
Dr John Morris has a special interest in mental health, heart disease, and stroke prevention and management. He is also a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine and has worked with the World Health Organisation which keeps him up to date with vaccination research.
As a result of the continued growth, the team at Briarhill are expanding and they are looking forward to welcoming a practice nurse in the next couple of weeks. She comes to the Briarhill Family Practice with many years of experience working as a practice nurse in general practice. She will provide many services including diabetes management, childhood immunisations, cervical screening, travel vaccinations, as well as working closely with all of the GPs.
To make an appointment with any of GPs or practice nurse, call reception on 091 393 170. Further information is available at www.briarhillfamilypractice.ie
