Clifden among winners at National Enterprising Town Awards

Clifden was among the winners at the Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Town Awards scooping a merit award prize at the recent awards presentation ceremony.

Bank of Ireland’s National Enterprising Town Awards aims to assist in the promotion of enterprise across the country by bringing business and community groups together to showcase to a panel of judges the spirit of enterprise in their local area. A total of 41 awards/prizemoney were presented on the night, with Tralee announced as the overall winner.

The purpose of the merit awards is to recognise a number of important initiatives the judges came across. While the initiatives are not business enterprises, they are regarded as important social enterprises which add significant value to the social infrastructure of the town. Portumna was also recognised on the night as a runner up in the Munster region category.
