Stars to come out for musical night in Clayton Hotel to honour the legend of Tony Keady

Some of Galway’s best known musicians are coming together on Wednesday night, Dec 6 in the Clayton Hotel to pay tribute to the late great Galway hurler Tony Keady in a gala concert.

The very popular Mike Denver will be joined on stage by The Conquerors, Keith and Lorraine’s Showband Show, Duo Vocis (Sean Costello and Frank Naughton ), Leo Moran and Padraig Stevens, Marc Roberts, Johnny Carroll, Johnny Duhan, Vinny Mongan, Paul Keating, Carmel Dempsey and more.

The comperes for the night are Jimmy Higgins and Ollie Turner from Galway Bay fm. The concert is the brainchild of Galway-based Vinny Mongan who joined Tony Keady with his band ‘Restless’ on the 2012 recording of ‘Galway Heroes’, a song penned by the All Star hurler for the Galway hurling team ahead of that year’s All Ireland final.

“Tony was an amazing personality. We met in the studios of Galway Bay fm five years ago to record the All Ireland song and it was like we knew each other all our lives. His passing was such a shock to all of us who knew and loved him,” said Vinny.

Tickets for the concert at €25 are selling fast from the Clayton Hotel, Galway Bay fm, Joyces Supermarkets in Galway, Athenry, Tuam and Headford and selected outlets around the county.
