CPR and AED course at Western Management Centre

Anyone at any time can come upon someone having a heart attack or choking. Wouldn’t it be great if you could help someone survive such a life threatening situation? CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator ) are indispensable and essential life skills. CPR, and using an AED, can be critical elements in the chain of survival when someone has a heart attack. The AED (or defibrillator as it is more commonly known ) shocks the heart back into a normal rhythm.

While some workplaces such as nursing homes have an AED machine, in recent years AEDs have also been installed in places where large crowds gather such as pitches, airports, and shopping centres.

Western Management Centre offers a half day CPR/AED course which is certified by PHECC the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council. PHECC is a statutory agency and the regulator for all pre-hospital emergency medical care in Ireland.

This recognised certification gives individuals additional skills and qualifications which are invaluable in a place of work or in the community. Equally these skills are often a requirement when applying for jobs in nursing homes or other caring professions.

Other courses to consider are manual handling, people moving and handling, and occupational first aid. For details on the full range of course offered by the Western Management Centre call 091 528777 or email [email protected].
