Cregmore Claregalway FC have succesfully made it into the last four of this year's FAI Women’s U18 National Cup.
The Galway girls overcame Birdhill FC by 2-0 in Cregmore on Sunday to advance to the semi-finals for the second year in succssion.
In strong wind conditions, it was nil-all at half time, but Cregmore took control of the second half. They were rewarded with two goals from Aoife Thompson and some super saves from goalkeeper Karen Connolly to see off the Tipperary side.
Cregmore contested last year's final, losing 6-2 to the experienced Peamount United outfit.
Also in action last weekend was a youthful Corrib's U18 girls who, after the long trek to Donegal, lost 2-0 to Greencastle.
