Padraig Jack to play The Crane

Aran Island singer-songwriter rounds off great 2017 with local gig

ARAN ISLAND singer-songwriter Padraig Jack is on tour this month and brings his intimate, soulful music, to The Crane Bar, Sea Road, on Friday November 24 at 8.30pm.

This year has been important for the artist, as it saw his debut single shortlisted for the PAN Celtic Music award and receive two NÓS Music Award nominations. In June, another single “Cant Find My Way Home/I bhFostú sa bhFiántas”, enjoyed airplay on Raidió na Gaeltachta, iRadio, RTÉ Radio 1, and was featured as a JOE.ie’s song of the day. It was also accompanied by a video featuring illustrations from Aran Islands artist Micheal Ó Ceallaigh.

Padraig amade his debut appearance at Electric Picnic, and played headline shows at the Westport Bluegrass Festival and the Castlebar Wild Atlantic Words Literary Festival. He also played the SOMA Festival in Down, the Liú Lúnasa Festival in Belfast, and a show in Berlin. He has also supported The Saw Doctors and Mick Flannery.

Support is from Cork singer Sarah Buckley and Pa Reidy. Admission is €5.
