Slovakian violinist brothers to play the Town Hall Theatre

VLADIMIR AND Anton, the Slovakian violinist brothers described as “the Nigel Kennedy’s of their nation”, by the London Evening Standard, will give a concert in Galway at the end of this month.

Vladimir and Anton Jablokov play the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday November 30 at 8pm. The brothers, who live in Ireland, come from four generations of professional musicians with Russian roots, and have been performing with each other since the late 1990s.

The brothers are acclaimed for their energetic, highly skilled performances of Eastern European folk and popular music with a classical twist, and also for pushing their instruments and each other on to ever greater heights of artistic expression, joyful harmony, and thrilling duels.

“We have been playing in Galway for 13 years now and we are so enthused and energised by the fantastic fanbase we have in the city," said Vladmir. "This year we can't wait to play our new music for them and I can promise they won’t be disappointed."

Tickets are available via the Town Hall (091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie ).
