SALT @ The Glass Factory is a chic new café and restaurant on Galway’s east side. Located above the Galway Crystal factory store on the Old Dublin Road, the interior at SALT gives a nod to the elegance and luxury of the building’s heritage.
Exquisite chandeliers adorn the ceiling of the bright and spacious restaurant, while plush Chesterfield sofas and luxurious scooped-back chairs decorate the expansive floor space. The décor is modern and vibrant, with rich velvet furnishings in pink, mustard, and orange, creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxed ambience.
At SALT @ The Glass Factory, all of the food is prepared from scratch. The emphasis is on wholesome home-cooked dishes, fresh soups, and delicious and varied salads, while all of the breads, savoury pies and quiches, scones, sweet buns, pastries, and cakes are baked fresh every morning by SALT’s dedicated pastry chef.
A sister property of the recently-opened SALT Restaurant & Bar at 163 Upper Salthill, the food offering at SALT @ The Glass Factory is more casual than its namesake in the seaside village. But while the menus may differ, the same priorities exist in both kitchens, with the importance of locally-sourced produce, fresh home-made food, tasty dishes, and attention to detail to the fore in each outlet.
SALT @ The Glass Factory is open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, light bites, and tasty treats. The café and restaurant opens from 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, and from 12 noon to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Phone 091 757 315.
