Labour Party Leader Brendan Howlin will attend a public meeting on the housing crisis, which takes place on Thursday November 16 at 7.30pm in the Clybaun Hotel, Knocknacarra.
The meeting is organised by city councillor Niall Mc Nelis and will discuss the crisis in Galway and look at short and long term solutions. Other speakers on the night will include representatives of Voluntary Housing Tuatha, Threshold, and local housing charities.
Labour is proposing the building of an extra 5,000 public homes each year; the creation of an affordable housing scheme to deliver 6,000 affordable homes each year; a cap on rent increases; and controls to be placed on the price of land. All are welcome to the meeting.
