FOLLOWING THE release of the 'Serve The Rich' single, Manchester indie-rock/post-punk band PINS hit the road for a European tour, with four dates in Ireland, including one in Galway.
PINS - Faith Vern (vocals/guitar ), Anna Donigan (bass ), Lois Macdonald (guitar ), Sophie Galpin (drums ), and Kyoko Swan (keys, guitar ) - play the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday November 15 at 9pm.
'Serve The Rich' was produced by The Kills’ Jamie Hince. “The track is about how sometimes we feel like we only exist to make money for other people," say the band. "It's a swizz. We are promised things by saviours, these people who have come to rescue us, but it's not true.” The video for the single was shot at a protest in Manchester against the policies of Theresa May's government, in which PINS took part.
'Serve The Rich' follows the band's Bad Thing EP, which included the single, 'Aggrophobe' featuring Iggy Pop. It received radio support from Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq, and also had an accompanying short film, largely shot in Manchester, featuring five separate videos for each track on the EP, to make up one 20-minute film.
