DX2, A double bill of duets from the award winning Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre, and acclaimed dancers Laura Murphy and Rob Heaslip, will be performed in Galway as part of a national tour.
The show, presented by Galway Dance Artist in Residence, and Firkin Crane Dance curator, Ríonach Ní Néill, features two performances: TOST by Dylan Quinn and German dance artist Jenny Ecke, with set design from Paddy McCann and choreography by Andy Garbi; and You and Me and You by Rob Heaslip and Marion Cronin, with text and an original soundscore by composer Irene Buckey.
Tost is the Irish word for ‘silence’, and in TOST, Quinn and Ecke explore the space between two noises, two happenings, two people. It seeks to challenge the viewer to inhabit the world of two people stuck between words and actions, and to explore the dark complex emotional space of silence.
You and Me, and You is an intimate duet unfolding through a series of misfires and misadventures, with the characters, portrayed by Heaslip and Cronin, discovering that persistence is the only inspiration they need, while the audience becomes the third party in their relationship.
Dx2 comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday November 14 at 8pm. Tickets are from 091 - 560777 or www.tht.ie
