Safe Pass, manual handling, and health and safety courses at Western Management Centre

In order to work in some areas of industry employees must have specific qualifications. Western Management Centre offers a range of key health and safety courses that are mandatory for anyone wanting to work in a factory, nursing home, building site, warehouse, or as a special needs assistant (SNA ).

The SOLAS Safe Pass course is mandatory for many jobs involving maintenance, building, painting, landscaping, etc. Manual handling is also a requirement. If you are looking for a job in a nursing home or as an SNA then the People Moving and Handling course is essential. Occupational First Aid, which includes CPR and defibrillator, is also relevant and gives potential employees a key skill for their CV. All the courses comply with the Health & Safety Authority (HSA ).

Gaining a fork truck certification opens many avenues as any business that has a warehouse or stores uses a fork truck to manage the products and stock. All fork truck drivers must have a current fork truck licence. Again, manual handling gives an extra advantage when seeking employment.

The ADR driver course (Hazchem ) is mandatory for anyone who wants to drive trucks or tankers that carry hazardous goods. A hazardous good can be as basic as paint all the way up to chemicals and petrol.
