Support your local dog rescue by leaving a gift to charity in your will

In conjunction with ‘My Legacy Week 2017’ on this week, local dog rescue charity MADRA asks that you consider leaving a gift to their organisation in your will.

Marina Fiddler of MADRA asked that people help to sustain the charity’s future by making a small provision for the Connemara-based dog shelter.

“If you support our work with unwanted, abandoned, and neglected dogs then please ask your solicitor to make an amendment to your will to include a gift to our organisation. Leaving a gift in your will is not something to feel sad about; it is a positive step to ensure that you can help the lives of unwanted dogs even after you’re gone.

“After taking care of your family and loved ones if there is anything left over, no matter how big or small, we would really appreciate your donation.

The organisation has been the grateful recipient of legacy funding in the past – the money received was put towards improvements to facilities as well as the day-to-day running of the shelter. Previous benefactors were respectfully remembered at the rescue facility in consultation with family members.

“We could not continue to provide the level of care for our dogs, and the service that we provide for our community, without such generosity. ” added Ms Fiddler.

Annual running costs for the registered dog rescue charity are in excess of 200,000 euro, with the majority of funding coming from donations from members of the public.
