What happens when the party goes Boom?

Claudia O’Carroll, Maria McDermottroe, Rose Henderson, Karen Egan, and Isobel Mahon on stage at Town Hall

SELMA MAE seems to have the perfect life, beautiful home, children, architect husband…but when her social climbing mother arrives to help organise a party to celebrate the completion of her state-of-the-art extension, cracks begin to show.

This is Boom?, the hit comedy written by Isobel McMahon and directed by Caroline FitzGerald, and starring Claudia O’Carroll (Fair City ), Maria McDermottroe (Glenroe, Killinnascully ), Rose Henderson (Fair City ), Karen Egan (The Nualas ), and Isobel Mahon. It comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday November 2 at 8pm.

Set at the height of the Celtic Tiger, Selma Mae (Mahon ) sees her party, the façade of perfection she has created, not to mention the extension itself, begin to crumble as her mother Carmel (McDermottroe ) and guests Chloe, (O'Carroll ), Maeve, (Egan ) and Bernie, (Henderson ) arrive.

Isobel Mahon has written for RTE radio and was a scriptwriter on RTE’s Fair City for three years.
