A new look at Joyce's female Dubliners

Dubliner's Women to run at the Town Hall Theatre

DUBLINER'S WOMEN is a stage adaptation of James Joyce's famous short story collection, but with the emphasis is on the often overlooked female characters from 'The Boarding House', 'Clay', and 'Eveline' - for once Dubliners is about far more than just 'The Dead'.

Dubliner's Women, adapted for the stage by Katie O’Kelly, comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday October 31 at 8pm. The script is a faithful adaptation of Joyce’s text, with the stories presented as a mix of physical storytelling, humour, music, and literature, which exploring such themes as reproductive justice, institutionalisation, and the complexity of human relationships.

The show won critical praise, with The Arts Review called it "inventive and deeply engaging...a clever, lively and thoroughly enjoyable production", while The Sunday Independent described it as "a delicate, balanced and wistful evening of theatre”.
