Tenth anniversary Mass for Manuela Riedo in Renmore Church
There will be a special 10 th anniversary Mass for Manuela Riedo this evening (Thursday ) at 7.30 pm.
Manuela, a 17 year old Swiss student lost her life on The Line to the city from Renmore in October 2007.
Manuela’s parents, Hans Peter and Arlette will be travelling to Galway from their home near Bern in Switzerland to be in attendance.
They have been so appreciative of the people of Galway who have both supported and welcomed them back to Galway over the last numbers of years.
The city was numbed by the tragic loss of Manuela in 2007 and in turn the people responded with thousands of signatures to books of condolences and attended services throughout the city at the time of her death.
All are welcome this evening to the Mass in Renmore Church that will start at 7.30 pm.
October candlelight processions at Galway Cathedral
A candlelight rosary procession will take place at Galway Cathedral throughout the month of October.
Running since Sunday October 1, the Candlelight Procession will begin at 8pm.
There will be four more candlelight processions held on Sunday October 8, October 15, October 22 and October 29 all taking place at 8pm.
The processions which will feature live music will last about an hour and everyone is welcome to attend.
