Have your say on Galway Public Transport Feasibility Study

The Galway City Council’s Transportation Unit is inviting the public to make their views known on the future of public transport in the city, particularly on light rail, bus rapid transit, and park and ride.

The call stems from the council’s commitment to undertake a study of the feasibility of light rail, bus rapid transit, and park and ride.

Research is currently underway by MVA Consultancy. The objective of the study is to demonstrate the type and extent of public transport and park and ride facilities required to ensure the long-term sustainable development of the city and its environs.

This study will also include an examination of the role park and ride can play in the context of public transport and in the development of a new transport system.

The public is invited to submit its views to City Hall. All submissions must be marked clearly Public Transport Feasibility Study and sent to Galway Transportation Unit, City Hall, College Road, Galway. Submissions can also be emailed to [email protected]

The deadline for submissions is Monday April 6 at 12 noon. The completion date for the study is May 2009.
